Onika Knitwear uses certified natural fibres from traceable sources, produces in small batches to minimise waste, and hand-knits each piece to ensure longevity. Certifications include RMS, GOTS, RWS, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, ICEA, and the Alpaca Blend Mark.

All core collection pieces are designed and hand-knitted by the designer in her Salzburg atelier. Selected designs are developed in collaboration with small, family-run ateliers who share the same dedication to craftsmanship and traceability.

Each piece in the core collection is entirely hand-knitted by the designer and takes between two and five days to complete. This slow production process reflects the label's commitment to artisanal craftsmanship and intentional creation.

Onika Knitwear uses 100% natural certified yarns with no synthetic blends. These include RMS-certified kid mohair blended with mulberry silk, GOTS and RWS-certified virgin wool blended with alpaca, and ethically sourced cashmere. All yarns are sourced from certified Italian mills.

Mulesing-free mohair means the goats are not subjected to a painful shearing procedure often used in industrial farming. We only source from certified farms that prioritize animal welfare.

Yes, you can - but it requires gentle care. Hand wash your mohair garment in cold water using a mild, wool-friendly detergent. Do not wring or twist. Rinse gently and lay flat to dry, away from direct sunlight or heat.
