About Onika-Knitwear

Onika Knitwear is a Salzburg-based, artist-owned label dedicated to preserving and reinterpreting traditional hand-knitting through a modern lens.
Each piece is created in small batches using premium natural fibres such as cashmere, mohair, and alpaca - either handcrafted in the Salzburg atelier or developed in close collaboration with carefully selected artisan partners who share the same commitment to quality and precision.

The brand brings a modern, minimalist perspective to traditional knitting techniques, creating garments defined by versatility, material integrity, and timeless elegance.

The Designer

After more than a decade in banking, Oana transitioned from the corporate world to craftsmanship, founding Onika Knitwear as an expression of her lifelong connection to knitwear and design.

Based in her Salzburg atelier, she designs each piece with a focus on material integrity, timeless form, and versatility. The core collection is meticulously handmade by the designer, reflecting a commitment to slow luxury and intentional creation.

Alongside these one-of-a-kind pieces, selected designs are developed in close collaboration with small, family-run ateliers who share the same dedication to craftsmanship, traceability, and quality - allowing the collection to evolve while preserving its artisanal foundation.
