Materials and craft

RMS-Certified Mohair & Mulberry Silk
The mohair cardigans are hand-knitted in Salzburg from a RMS-certified mohair and Mulberry Silk blend. The mohair-silk blend is simultaneously lightweight and warm, with a subtle sheen that responds beautifully to both natural and artificial light - candlelight, golden hour, the soft light of a reception room.
It is available in different yarn densities - and can be made to measure in custom sizes. Because each piece is handknitted individually, adjustments to length, sleeve width, and overall fit are available on request before ordering.

Responsibly Sourced Cashmere
The cashmere lace scarf is made from 100% Mongolian cashmere responsibily sourced and selected for fibre fineness, softness, and durability.
In lace construction, it becomes exceptionally lightweight while maintaining warmth - producing a shawl that feels almost weightless, yet remains insulating and resilient over time.

Can I order a bridal mohair cardigan in a custom size?

Yes. Because every piece is hand-knitted in the Salzburg atelier by the designer, made-to-measure adjustments are available for the mohair cardigan - including length, sleeve length, overall width, and yarn density. Is mohair appropriate for a summer wedding?

Yes - at a single yarn density, the mohair-silk cardigan is lightweight and breathable enough for warm-weather celebrations, particularly for cooler morning ceremonies, air-conditioned venues, or evening receptions.

How long does it take to make a bridal knitwear piece?

Each piece is hand-knitted to order in the Salzburg atelier. Standard pieces take between three and five working days to complete. For made-to-measure orders or custom density requests, please contact us to confirm the timeline before ordering. We recommend ordering a minimum of two to three weeks before your wedding date.

Can the cashmere shawl be styled in different ways?

Yes. It can be draped, wrapped, or worn loosely over the shoulders, allowing it to adapt to different moments throughout the day.

Yes. Onika Knitwear offers free standard shipping within the European Union and complimentary worldwide shipping on orders over €450. International orders via DHL Express typically arrive within two to four business days depending on destination and customs. For destination weddings, we recommend ordering with sufficient lead time to account for shipping and any customs processing.
